Wolfgang
Flad
1974 — Reutlingen, DE
The oeuvre of artist Wolfgang Flad is defined by his distinctive engagement with surfaces and spatial dimensions. His works, ranging from abstract aluminum reliefs to colorfully mirrored wall pieces, are characterized by subtle layering and gradual transformation. This incremental evolution reflects not only the artistic process itself but also the continuous change inherent in the passage of time.
Through the use of diverse materials and techniques, Flad creates visual experiences that invite viewers to explore his works from multiple perspectives and to uncover their slowly unfolding complexity. His artistic practice plays with light and shadow, texture and illusion, generating a captivating sense of dynamism.
By employing glass and aluminum as central elements, Flad investigates the boundaries between transparency and opacity, brilliance and matte stillness, creating a compelling tension between opposing qualities. His work ultimately opens a space where materiality, perception, and transformation intertwine.
Her works will be on view and available through the Boutique Art Fair from November 22 to December 21, presented in collaboration with Drewes Galerie, Hamburg.
