About MASSOUMI

Sahar Massoumi is a curator and gallerist with a clear focus on emerging contemporary art. After completing her law degree, she transitioned into the art world and has built an international career over the past eight years.

Having restructured and founded two galleries, she now leads MASSOUMI Gallery in Hamburg, one of the city’s largest contemporary gallery spaces, and expanded with a second location in Berlin in October 2025.

MASSOUMI Gallery presents multidisciplinary contemporary art, bringing together painting, sculpture, installation and performance. The program is shaped by a strong spatial awareness and often engages with large-scale, site-specific formats that respond directly to architectural contexts.

Massoumi’s curatorial practice is rooted in the emerging artist market and long-term artist development. She actively supports new artistic positions, accompanying careers from early visibility to international recognition and institutional, including museum, placements. Her work is closely connected to sustained international exchange and collaboration.

As one of the few young female gallerists in Hamburg, Massoumi represents a new generation. Focused, forward-thinking and committed to shaping the future of contemporary art.
