EXPLORE WORKS

Reggie Khumalo is a South African fine-artist and self-taught adventurer whose work centres on African storytelling, social empowerment and the philosophy of Ubuntu. From early on, Khumalo taught himself to paint, having sketched from childhood and later turning to full-time practice around 2017.
His approach integrates vivid acrylic painting (and increasingly mixed media) with travel-based research across the continent. Over extended motorcycle expeditions, he traversed multiple African countries, from Cape Town to Cairo, collecting stories, encounters and visual impressions that feed into his work.

Thematically, Khumalo’s work emphasises the dignity of African identity, the strength of women and community resilience. His portraits and figurative compositions endeavour to convey both personal journeys and collective histories, often aiming to give visibility to voices and experiences that are under-represented.
Beyond aesthetics, Khumalo’s practice is deeply philanthropic: he commits a portion of his exhibition proceeds to educational and community-development initiatives across Africa.
In his own words, his paintings are “a platform to share my journey with the world … to convey love, peace and grace to the viewer, offering a feeling of community, resilience and a deep sense of belonging.”

Reggie Khumalos abstract work will be presented at MASSOUMI Gallery as part of the Boutique Art Fair 2025.
In cooperation with Art Maison Marios.
