Miriam Goerdt is a German artist and creative strategist who explores the spaces between the visible and the invisible.
A translator in motion, she allows delicate observations to become artistic experiences through a process of inquiry. She is drawn to opposites, to the small and the vast, and to what unfolds between them. Her work is inspired by the quiet wonders of life.
Working within the tradition of text art, Goerdt treats language not as illustration but as material in its own right. Something to be weighed, fractured, and reassembled until meaning shifts. Words become images, gaps become pauses, and syntax itself carries as much weight as sense.
Her practice extends beyond the page and the wall into performance: read aloud, her texts turn into events in time, where rhythm, breath, and silence become as legible as the words themselves.
In this way, Goerdt continues text art's long-standing inquiry into where language ends and image, sound, or gesture begins.
On Sunday, Sept 6th, Goerdt will close Hamburg Art Week with a reading performance of “Das Ewige Dazwischen” at MASSOUMI, 4 p.m.
