Michael Rayss constructs his ongoing series “FLOW – monochrome” on both large-scale and smaller canvases, engaging in a continuous process of artistic exploration. His work is deeply rooted in the dynamics of creation, where form and method emerge through a consciously restrained yet expressive use of pigments. His monochrome compositions reflect the spirit of the times, yet they stand apart from digital aesthetics. Rather than adhering to the conventions of digital modernity, Rayss redirects them into tangible experiences of color and form.

His creative process is driven by spontaneity and the unpredictable nature of material interaction. Like a pendulum, his work swings between construction and deconstruction, disrupting conventional digital effects to reintroduce the raw physicality of paint. Through layering and reduction, his works evolve, often carrying an inherent risk — the possibility that built-up forms may be erased, transformed, or fragmented. This deliberate uncertainty gives rise to ambiguous, associative imagery, where the tension between presence and absence becomes a key element. Explore Artist Profile
