Jakob Juul is a Danish artist whose comic-inspired paintings vibrate with color, texture, and sculptural presence. Working instinctively with mixed media such as acrylic, oil, pastels, jesmonite, fiberglass, sand, and spray paint, he builds layered surfaces that blur the line between image and object. His works transform childhood memories and imagined figures into bold, playful forms, where humorous and vulnerable characters move freely across tactile grounds.

Each painting functions like a visual diary, carrying fragments of experience, fleeting moods, and rhythms of daily life. Juul’s compositions are restless and dynamic, shifting between sincerity and humor, control and abandon. By merging the immediacy of comic aesthetics with the depth of material experimentation, he creates a language that feels both personal and universal — unapologetically alive. In September 2025, Massoumi Gallery presents The Days at Kongevej 39, his first European solo exhibition, showcasing 17 new works.
